Full electric pump system

high performance Electric FIREFIGHTING Pump System

Cyan line

Hurtec pumps deliver water to firefighters at the volume and pressure they need, when they need it.

Highly efficient electric firefighting pump systems ready for the electrified fleet of tomorrow.

built around the realities of frontline fire response

Cyan line

The pump is the beating heart of a connected system for optimal firefighting performance.

Hurtec’s Full Electric Pump System combines an electric firefighting pump, motor, battery system, inverter, automated control, sensors and FleetCon connectivity into one configurable response platform.

At Hurtec we don’t treat the pump as an isolated piece of equipment, we connect the pump, vehicle and operating data together. The system is then configured around the vehicle, required flow, operating pressure, battery capacity and response environment.

The result is a quieter, simpler and more visible pumping system that helps crews operate under pressure while giving fleet and operational teams better information about equipment use, condition and readiness.

operational problems eLECTRIC PUMPS solve

Cyan line

Traditional diesel pump systems have served fire services for decades, but they can create limitations.

The Hurtec electric system addresses these problems through quieter operation, reduced fuel handling, automated control and connected monitoring. Hurtec is ready for the modern firefighting fleet.

nOISE AND COMMUNICATIONS

They are noisy at the exact point where crews need to communicate clearly.

tOXIC eMISSIONS

They produce exhaust emissions around operators.

fUEL HANDLING

They require fuel to be stored, handled and replenished.

Manual COntrols

Their manual controls can increase the training burden for volunteers and less experienced operators.

data void

Their mechanical operation generally produces very little usable data for operational review or fleet planning.

INCOMPATIBILITY

Diesel pumps make no sense on the new next generation of powerful hybrid and electric vehicles now available.

Our unique combination

An innovative system of systems. Hurtec pumps have minimal moving parts. Robust mechanical components are controlled by intelligent software to deliver a reliable, responsive, powerful and use-friendly frontline firefighting tool.

Key System Elements

  1. An electric motor that drives the pump.

  2. A battery system configured for the required duty cycle.

  3. An inverter and electrical management system.

  4. A PLC that controls and monitors the system.

  5. A sensor suite that monitors pump performance and operating conditions.

  6. Electronic controls and automated protection logic.

  7. A simplified operator interface, including one touch operation.

  8. Secure telemetry hardware.

  9. FleetCon software for monitoring, diagnostics, historical data and reporting.

When the pump is activated, the PLC receives information from the sensors and controls the electric motor within the approved operating parameters. The system can monitor conditions such as pressure, flow, temperature, pump speed and dry running, although Hurtec needs to confirm the exact sensor list.

If the system detects an unsafe or damaging condition, the control logic can warn the operator, reduce output or shut the pump down, depending on how Hurtec has programmed the protection sequence.

The same system can transmit operating data to FleetCon, allowing authorised users to view current conditions, historical use, alerts, faults and service information.

This integration is one of the strongest Hurtec differentiators. The components themselves may be commercially available, but Hurtec’s value is in how the pump, motor, batteries, sensors, controls and software have been engineered to work together reliably.

Benefits of the Full electric Pump Solution

Electric motor driven pumping

This removes the need for a separate diesel pump engine. It creates a quieter operating environment, reduces diesel exhaust around the crew and removes the need to refuel the pump during an incident.

Configurable performance

The pump system can be configured around flow, pressure, battery capacity, inverter capacity, vehicle type and operating application. This gives agencies a system selected for the actual response requirement rather than forcing every vehicle into one standard configuration.

Automated pump control

The PLC and sensor suite monitor the system while it is operating. This reduces reliance on constant manual adjustment and helps protect the pump from preventable damage.

One touch operation

Simplified controls can reduce the number of steps required to begin pumping. This may reduce training complexity, improve consistency between operators and support faster deployment.

Quieter operation

Lower pump noise can improve communication between crew members, reduce operator fatigue and improve conditions during extended incidents, planned burns and operations in sensitive environments.

Lighter configured system options

Depending on the final configuration, the electric system may reduce pump system weight and free payload capacity for additional water, equipment or vehicle integration requirements.

Connected diagnostics

FleetCon can provide visibility of operating conditions, faults and system health. This can help fleet teams identify potential problems earlier and move from reactive repairs towards planned maintenance.

Operational evidence

The system creates a digital record of pump use, location, operating time, water use, flow, pressure, alerts and incident history, subject to the installed sensor configuration.

This gives government, defence, councils and other fleet managers evidence that can support incident review, asset planning, utilisation analysis, compliance and future procurement.
